Board Approves 2024-25 Instructional Calendar
Keller ISD will begin the year on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The school year will end on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Keller ISD’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved the District’s 2024-25 Instructional Calendar at its Regular Meeting on December 11, 2023.
The 2024-25 calendar includes 77,400 operational minutes from August 14, 2024, to May 22, 2025.
Keller ISD will begin the year on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, with a three-day first week of school to allow teachers and students to build relationships and establish routines for the new year. There will be four extended weekends throughout the year:
- August 31-September 2
- January 18-20
- February 15-17
- March 18-April 21 (four-day student weekend; three-day employee weekend)
Fall Break will be held on October 14-18, 2024. Students will have a holiday, Friday, October 11, 2024, for a Parent-Teacher Conference Day, before the entire District closes October 14-18.
Students will have a holiday Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for Election Day. Tarrant County typically designates several Keller ISD schools as Election Day polling locations, and the District is required to comply. Making Election Day a Student Holiday alleviates security concerns or potential distractions that could potentially come with opening up portions of so many schools to the public throughout the day.
Thanksgiving Break will be held November 25-29, 2024. The first semester will conclude before the Winter Break, which will be held from December 23, 2024-January 6, 2025, for students. Employees will return from the Winter Break on Monday, January 6, for a Teacher Prep Day.
Spring Break will be held March 17-21, 2025.
The school year will end again before Memorial Day, concluding on Thursday, May 22, 2025. High School Graduations will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Dickies Arena.
The calendar includes banked minutes for two instructional days that might be lost due to bad weather, as the state requires. In the event that inclement weather forces the closure of a school, those banked minutes will be used instead of making up the day.
